The Faithful Servant
From the Gospel of Matthew, Chapter 24
A master, setting out on a long journey, called his trusted servant. "Look after everyone," he said. "I am counting on you."
Season after season the servant worked faithfully — feeding the household, keeping everything in order, caring for everyone in his charge.
Night fell, but the servant did not sleep. He kept the lamp burning and watched the road, ready for whenever the master might come.
The master came home. He found the servant still at work, the household in perfect order. His heart overflowed with joy.
The master placed his hand on the faithful servant's shoulder. "All I have, I trust to you." Greater things were given into his care.
What does it mean
to be trusted?
“Who then is the faithful and wise servant?”
A flower bloomed.
Well done for finishing this story.
