From the Gospel of Matthew, Chapter 25
A master, before a long journey, called his servants. He gave one five bags of gold, another two, and a third just one.
The master set out on his long journey. Each servant held a gift — and each one had to decide what to do next.
The first servant took his five bags to the marketplace — and traded, and worked. He doubled them. Five became ten.
The second servant, with two bags, also put them to work. He too doubled what he'd been given. Two became four.
But the third servant was afraid. He dug a hole in the field and buried his bag of gold in the ground.
The master returned. The first two servants came forward with doubled gifts. "Well done!" he cried. "Come, share in my joy!"
The third servant returned the one bag — unchanged. "I was afraid," he said. The master's face fell with disappointment.
“Well done, good and faithful servant!”
Well done for finishing this story.
