From the Gospel of Matthew
A king called his servant who owed him an enormous debt — more gold than the servant could ever repay.
The servant fell to his knees, tears running. "Please! Be patient with me! I'll pay back everything!"
The king felt sorry for him. He didn't just give him time — he cancelled the whole debt. All forgiven.
Walking home, the servant saw a fellow servant ahead — someone who owed him a little.
But the servant rushed up. He grabbed his fellow servant — hard.
The smaller servant knelt — the exact same words — "Be patient with me!" But the first servant would not listen.
He refused to forgive. He pointed to the prison door and had the smaller servant locked away.
When the king heard, his heart was grieved. "How could you not forgive a little, when I forgave you so much?"
“Shouldn't you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?”
