A Story Jesus Told
The Yeast
From the Gospel of Matthew
Scroll to begin
Early in the morning, a woman scooped a great amount of flour into her large wooden bowl.
Then she pinched just a tiny bit of yeast — and mixed it into all that flour.
She kneaded and pushed the dough, elbows out. Then she covered the bowl and waited.
While she waited, the sun crossed the window. The yeast did its hidden work — quietly changing everything from inside.
When she came back, the dough had puffed and risen, overflowing the bowl! That tiny yeast had changed everything.
What small thing
makes a whole day better?
“The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into a large amount of flour.”
Matthew 13
A flower bloomed.
You finished The Yeast. Your garden has one more flower in it.
