One — The Feast A man was preparing an enormous feast. He set a long table with breads, fruits, and candles. The servants were busy all day. Everything must be perfect!

Two — The Excuses
Two — The Excuses When everything was ready, the servant called the guests. But one by one, they made excuses. A field. Oxen. A wedding. Not today. my field I have a field… My oxen… Not today…

But every guest made an excuse. A field. Oxen. A wedding. "Not today."

Three — The Host Is Angry
Three — The Host Is Angry When the servant returned with all the excuses, the host was furious. None of those people will taste my banquet, he declared. None of them shall taste my feast!

The servant returned with nothing but excuses. The host was furious. "None of those people will taste my banquet!"

Four — Out to the Streets
Four — Out to the Streets The host sent his servant out into the streets and alleys to invite the poor, the tired, and those left out. Come! There is still room!

The servant went out to the streets and called to the poor, the tired, the left-out. "Come — there is still room!"

Five — Roads and Country Lanes
Five — Roads and Country Lanes Still there was room. The host sent his servant further out — to the roads and country lanes — to find everyone possible so his house would be full. Come — there's still more room!

Still there was room. "Go further," the host said. "To the roads and country lanes. Find everyone. I want my house to be full!"

Six — The Hall Is Full
Six — The Hall Is Full And the banquet hall filled up! Unexpected guests sat down and enjoyed the feast. The host beamed with joy. Welcome — all of you!

And the hall was filled with joy! Unexpected guests — all welcome, all feasting together.
