A Story Jesus Told

The New Cloth and New Wineskins

From the Gospel of Luke, Chapter 5

Scroll to begin
One — The Old Garment
Oh no — worse! Bigger tear!

A new patch on an old garment only makes the tear worse. The new cloth pulls, and the rip grows.

Two — The Old Wineskin
It's cracking! Wine spilling…

New wine in an old wineskin makes it crack and burst. Everything spills out. Something new needs room to grow.

Three — A New Beginning

The keeper stepped into the morning light, carrying a fresh, empty wineskin — ready to begin again.

Four — The New Wineskin
It's stretching! Perfect fit!

But new wine in a new wineskin — it fits! It stretches and holds. Something new needs space to grow.

A Small Question

What new thing is
growing in you?

New wine must be poured into new wineskins.

From Luke, Chapter 5
