A Story Jesus Told
The Weeds in the Wheat
From the Gospel of Matthew
Scroll to begin
A farmer carefully planted good wheat seeds in neat, tidy rows. He was so careful.
That night, while everyone slept, an enemy crept through and scattered weed seeds everywhere.
When the plants grew, the workers were horrified. Weeds had grown right among the good wheat!
The farmer stood calm among the field. "Wait," he said. "Pulling the weeds might hurt the wheat."
Days passed. Sun and rain. The field grew tall — and the farmer kept his promise to wait.
At harvest, weeds were bundled on one side — and the golden wheat gathered safely into the barn.
Why do you think
the farmer waited?
“Let both grow together until the harvest.”
Matthew 13
A flower bloomed.
You finished The Weeds in the Wheat. Your garden has one more flower in it.
